Description

Description

This F1 hybrid Luffa is mid- to late-maturing with strong continuous fruit-setting ability. The fruits are glossy, green, and cylindrical, measuring approximately 16–20 cm in length and 8–10 cm in diameter. The skin has deep green stripes, is thin yet covers thick, tender, and sweet flesh. It is resistant to browning and aging. Each fruit weighs about 450–750 g. Suitable for long harvest periods, with good storability and transport resistance.

Recommended Planting Regions & Seasons

  • Suitable for cultivation in Yunnan, Guizhou, Sichuan, Chongqing, the Yangtze River Basin, and Jiangsu-Zhejiang-Shanghai regions.
  • In the Yangtze River Basin, sow in seedbeds from January 21 to February 20, transplant in greenhouses in late February or under plastic mulch in early to mid-March.
  • For other regions with similar climate and ecological conditions, trial planting is advised before large-scale cultivation.

Key Cultivation Practices
Recommended planting density is 2,000 plants per mu (approx. 30,000 per hectare), with 66 × 50 cm spacing. Train vines onto trellises promptly. When 3–4 young fruits appear, perform successive pinching, remove lateral branches, and retain the main stem to promote fruit setting. During low temperatures, hormone treatment or manual pollination with male flowers can improve early fruit set.

Adaptability
This variety is highly adaptable and demonstrates high yield, stability, and strong resistance to stress under proper cultivation and management.
