Immature fruits are green-white, turning bright red at maturity, with good glossiness. Average fruit length 8.6 cm, diameter 1.6 cm, pericarp thickness 0.15 cm, and average fruit weight 7.4 g. Pungency level 49,622 SHU. Fruits are smooth, firm, thin-fleshed, with strong pungency. Fresh red pepper yield can reach 1,800 kg per mu (≈27,000 kg/ha). Suitable for use as fresh red chili and for pickling/processing.
Cultivation Practices
- Recommended planting spacing: 50 × 40 cm, with 2,800–3,300 plants per mu (≈42,000–50,000 plants/ha).
- Harvest mature fruits promptly to avoid reduction in yield and economic returns.
- Adapted to Chongqing and the middle–lower Yangtze River regions, including Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Shanghai.
- In the Yangtze River basin, sow seedlings from October 21–30, and transplant in March of the following year.
- In other regions with similar climate and ecological conditions, trial planting is recommended before large-scale production.
