Description

The plants show moderately strong vigor and are medium to late-maturing. Fruits are erect, borne singly, small pointed chili type. Average fruit length is 8–9 cm, diameter about 1.1 cm. Immature fruits are dark green, turning bright red at maturity. Average fruit weight is 6.2 g. Fruits are straight, with smooth surface, firm texture, and strong pungency. Suitable for fresh green use, pickling, and drying/processing. Resistant to viral diseases, moderately resistant to anthracnose. Yield potential exceeds 1,800 kg per mu(667 Square Meters).

Cultivation Guidelines

  • In the Yangtze River basin, sow seeds for winter seedlings from October 21–30, and transplant from March 1–20 the following year.
  • Recommended spacing: 50 cm × 40 cm, with 2,800–3,300 plants per mu.
  • Harvest mature fruits promptly to avoid reduction in yield and economic returns.
  • Recommended for cultivation in Chongqing and surrounding regions;
  • for other climatic and ecological zones, planting should be preceded by introduction trials.
