Description
A newly bred gynoecious cucumber variety. Extremely early-maturing, with the first female flower appearing at the 3rd–4th node and a high percentage of female nodes. Fruits are long cylindrical, green-white to light white in color, measuring 25–28 cm in length and 3.8–4.0 cm in diameter. Fruits are slender, with thin and crisp skin, no bitterness, sweet and crunchy flavor, and excellent quality. Plants exhibit vigorous growth, strong disease resistance, with an early yield of about 1,836 kg per mu and a total yield of about 4,350 kg per mu. Well suited for early-spring protected cultivation and spring–summer open-field production.
Cultivation Practices
- Seedling age: approximately 30 days.
- Transplanting under plastic film with small tunnels.
- Planting density: 2,500–3,000 plants per mu.
- Apply abundant basal fertilizer, frequent topdressing, and timely pest and disease control.
- Frequent harvesting is recommended.
- Under low temperatures in early stages, hormonal flower treatment may be used to improve fruit set.
Recommended Planting Areas
- Suitable for Chongqing and the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River, and for early-spring protected cultivation in Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Shanghai.
- In Chongqing, nursery raising is recommended in large (or medium) plastic tunnels or electrically heated seedbeds from January 21 to February 20.
- In other regions, trial planting is required before large-scale introduction under similar climatic and ecological conditions.
