Description
Early-maturing type. The first female flower appears at the 3rd–4th node with a high female flowering rate. Fruits are short cylindrical, light green-white in color, smooth and glossy, with a crisp texture. No yellow striping. Average fruit length 16–18 cm, diameter 3.5–3.8 cm, and single fruit weight about 150 g. Thin skin, tender and crisp flesh, slightly sweet, with excellent eating quality. Plants show vigorous growth, strong disease resistance, and good tolerance to stress. Suitable for early spring and mid-summer cultivation under plastic tunnels and small greenhouses. Yields can reach over 3,000 kg per mu (≈45,000 kg/ha).
Main Cultivation Practices
- Transplant seedlings at about 30 days old using plastic mulch plus small tunnel covering.
- Planting density: 2,000–2,500 plants per mu (≈30,000–37,500 plants/ha). Apply abundant base fertilizer and frequent topdressing; implement timely disease prevention. Harvest frequently. Under low temperatures in early stages, use hormone spraying to improve fruit set.
Suitable Regions and Sowing Season
- Adapted to Chongqing and the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River, including Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Shanghai.
- In Chongqing and surrounding areas, sow in large/mid-sized plastic tunnels or electric-heated seedbeds from January 21 to early February.
- In other regions with similar climatic and ecological conditions, trial planting is recommended before large-scale cultivation.
